Listen to Music that puts you in a good mood

Find an upbeat playlist like Happy Beats on Spotify or another music streaming platform, or create your own playlist with songs that always put you in a good mood. Using Spotify or Pandora you can create radio stations from your favorite songs and discover similar music - maybe even your new favorite song.

Learn a new skill

It doesn't matter if the skill is useful or just entertaining, learning a new skill is fun and you will be proud of the progress you make. How about a new language with an accessible app such as Mango Languages. You could learn to play an instrument, improve your cooking skills, learn an acrobatic skill like a handstand or the splits, pottery, how to meditate, coding, chess... there are no limits!

Discover a new comedian

Nothing changes the mood faster than a good laugh. Here are some suggestions for comedians with videos of their standup linked. Careful! Everyone has a different sense of humor and you might find some comedians offensive, but you also could discover a new style of comedy for yourself. Here are just a few of the most popular stand up comedians: Jerry Seinfeld, Kevin Hart, Ricky Gervais, Amy Schumer, Dave Chappelle, Jimmy Carr, Louis C.K., Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, Aziz Ansari

Spend time with an animal

Animals are a great at brightening moods. If you don't have your own pet, you can visit an animal shelter or a zoo, or you can offer to take care of someone else's pet. There are websites and apps that can help you connect to people looking for pet sitters.

Plan a weekend trip

A weekend trip doesn't have to be expensive. You can take a short road trip with a friend, book a train to a new city, or a bus to a destination in the countryside. You will have something to look forward to and something to remember.

Move your body!

Doesn't matter if you are a good or a bad dancer, turn on your favorite song and dance. Go to the gym, do some yoga, get a running or biking buddy, or do anything else that breaks a sweat.

Try pottery

Not many people do it anymore, but pottery allows you to create something decorative and useful out of nothing. And if you get good at it, it makes a nice present, spreading even more happiness.

Cook or eat something delicious

Perfect your favorite recipe or learn and practice a new one. You could even invite someone to cook for or cook with.

Watch a funny movie

One of the oldest tricks, just watch a funny movie to get yourself laughing. Netflix offers many audio-described movies, you could also listen to an audio book or a funny podcast.

Buy yourself a plant

A plant creates fresh air, it spreads a nice scent, and is easier to take of than a pet.
